Pelvic Floor Muscle (PFM)Re-Education
What It Is?
PFM Re-Education is a therapy program aimed at restoring the strength, coordination, tone, and function of the pelvic floor muscles. This process teaches clients how to properly contract, relax, and work these muscles with the surrounding core structures with help from trained professionals.
Who It Helps? It can help those dealing with issues like urinary or fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain or discomfort, post-partum recovery, or sexual function concerns. It is also beneficial for people with weakened pelvic floor muscles or changed muscle patterns due to surgery, pregnancy, aging, or chronic strain.

How It Works?
Assessment & Education. This involves understanding the anatomy and function of the pelvic floor, identifying specific issues like weakness, tightness, or poor coordination, and informing clients about habits that may contribute, such as posture and breathing. Targeted Muscle Training. This consists of exercises like Kegels and other contraction and relaxation routines guided by a specialist. For many, biofeedback or EMG can help improve awareness and ensure the right muscle is activated. Manual Techniques and Relaxation. For people with tight muscles, methods such as myofascial release, trigger-point therapy, and guided relaxation are used to relieve tension. Functional Integration. This involves adding pelvic floor activation into daily activities, posture and core stability training, breathing exercises, and movement patterns to ensure the pelvic floor works well during common motions. Home Program & Behavior Modification. Clients receive exercises and lifestyle guidance to keep making progress outside of therapy sessions, improve adherence, and maintain long-term gains.
Why Choose the Kegel Chair?
It provides a strong and effective option for daily manual Kegel exercises, which many people struggle to perform correctly or stick to consistently.

Some providers extend or customize the protocol based on patient needs (e.g. for men, post-surgery, or severe symptoms)
-
The chair must be positioned so that the perineum is centered over the electromagnetic coil; posture and alignment during the session matter.
-
Intensity is increased gradually to patient tolerance, ensuring comfort but sufficient stimulus.
-
Clothing: patients are advised to wear comfortable, flexible clothing without metal components (zippers, buttons) so the electromagnetic effect is not impeded.
